My weapon holder goes behind the camera on Play

So I made a couple of weapon models, each containing a few animations (animations were made in Blender). Then I imported them into Unity, put them in an empty object and made them functional (animations get played when I press certain buttons, you know). Now when I try to parent that empty object to the main camera everything's fine until I hit play. When I hit play the object goes like 4 units behind the camera and I can't move it. This happens when I have a character controller attached and when I don't. Ya pals know any solutions? Thanks in advance!
